Adopted Chinese teenagers give back to their country of birth

The Northwest chapter of Families with Children from China (NW-FCC) will be having their very first teen service China trip. From July 17 to Aug. 2, 11 teenagers along with nine adults will be visiting orphanages close to Beijing, Inner Mongolia, and Xian.

India’s top court takes up gay sex law dispute

Constantine vs. Phillips

Candidates for King County Executive Dow Constantine and Larry Phillips were both in the Chinatown Seafair Parade last Sunday, July 19. They have both organized fund raising events in the International District. They have been present at many Asian community dinners. They are both Democrats. And they both even wore blue shirts in the parade.

Vietnamese doctor in dire need of more Asian bone marrow donors

Anh Nguyen Reiss is a 43-year-old Vietnamese immigrant, a mother, and an obstetrician/gynecologist in Houston. She has been looking around the country to find a matching Vietnamese stem cell donor to survive. In 2009, she was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS), a disease of bone marrow cell very similar to acute leukemia.
