Aug. 14: Luly helps raise funds
The Teatro ZinZanni Asia show was a success. The event was a tribute to fashion designer Luly Yang, who designed special costumes for Teatro ZinZanni, and a fundraiser for Kin On and Nikkei Concerns. More than $3,000 was raised through ticket sales and donations.
July 28: Kin On’s sports tournament raises $30,000
On July 28, Kin On’s second annual sports tournament turned out to be a success. It raised approximately $30,000 dollars. The sports tournament included billiards, table tennis, badminton, basketball, and soccer. Profits will go toward Kin On’s mission to provide culturally and linguistically relevant health and long-term care services. Their mission is to provide health and long-term nursing care in the appropriate language and cultural setting for the Asian elderly community. ♦

Fundraising through sweets
On Saturday, Oct. 4, Kin On held its first annual Open House and Crafts and Bake Sale. Over 200 visitors, volunteers and community vendors filled the nursing home with handmade crafts, delicious baked goods, snacks and a friendly atmosphere. Many came to Kin On for the very first time and received informative guided tours with a board member, CEO, and/or staff member.
