During May, Nordstrom stores will be selling limited-edition T-shirts by famed fashion designers Koi Suwannagate and Anna Sui. Nordstrom will generously give proceeds from shirt sales to the Organization for Chinese Americans’ (OCA) scholarship fund in honor of APA Heritage Month.

‘24 City’ falters when fiction appears
Directed by Zhang-ke Jia, “24 City” is a Chinese film that blends documentary and fiction. It opens with a grim tone: Factory workers heat and hammer metal, and shots reveal people lingering alone and in smaller groups. The film follows individuals as they recount the story of how a factory turned into an apartment complex, a reflection of how China modernized.
Oh, Jackie Chan, what were you thinking?
The controversy of the month belongs to Jackie Chan and his comments regarding freedom for Chinese people. That being said, other Asians excelled. Yao Ming is leading the Houston Rockets in the playoffs, Lindsay Price stars in a television pilot, and Freida Pinto is declared beautiful. In addition, a long awaited update on journalist Laura Ling and Euna Kim.

Pageant recrowns winner due to counting error
