Editorial: The primaries are not a reason to slack in civic duty

August 12, 2009 By Northwest Asian Weekly

Now we know this upcoming election season isn’t as big as last year’s presidential election, but that does not mean we should fall into complacency.

Letter: Constantine and Phillips story biased

August 6, 2009 By Northwest Asian Weekly

Your story on the race for King County Executive, “Dow vs. Phillips” (issue 31, July 25–31) was uneven.

In fairness, it should have included Larry Phillips’ actual record of support for the API community. It’s also important to know who has endorsed him [which the story did not do].

In response to Mark Lee’s “Hutchison” column …

June 4, 2009 By Northwest Asian Weekly

To the Editor: [I would like to] thank [Mark Lee] for [his] article about Susan Hutchison, candidate for King County Executive (which appeared in issue 23 on May 23). I would not have known about her lawsuit regarding replacement “from the prime news anchor spots with an Asian female who is substantially younger.”
