Ted Choi Tam (1935–2010), father and activist

Tam majored in business at the University of Washington and served in the U.S. Army. He was a manufacturing engineer before starting Choi Investment Realty.

Ron Sims’ replacement whittled down to four names

The field for a prospective appointment as King County Executive was narrowed to four as members of the Metropolitan King County Council submitted the names for evaluation by a Blue-Ribbon Committee, which is has two Asian American members, Sharon Maeda and Ted Choi Tam, on Monday, April 13.

Getting the vote

The Obama camp’s local methods “There are people that will not vote for a person of color,” former Washington state Gov. Gary Locke told a gathering of voters at an event sponsored by the Washington State Asian American Pacific Islanders for Obama on Saturday night, Oct. 4th. He told the young voters in attendance at the Typhoon! restaurant in downtown Seattle that regardless of the polls, “not to take the election for granted.”
