Construction begins on the Edmonds International District stretch of SR 99
Construction on the SR 99 Edmonds International District Enhancements Project began on Thursday, Oct. 4. The $662,000 project is funded though federal Highway Enhancements grants and will provide improved illumination and enhanced visibility for the Edmonds International District commercial district, as well as create a visual gateway for the area.

There are two changes coming that aren’t thrilling many. One is the tolling on the 520 bridge, slated to begin Dec. 29. The other is a plastic bags ban, which will likely be implemented in July.
