Flash mob addresses violence

About 20 Filipina women and youth joined “One Billion Rising” in a flash mob in front of Seafood City at Southcenter Mall on Feb. 14. The event was organized by Pinay sa Seattle Gabriela USA as part of a global call to action to address violence against women. (end)

Seafood City in Southcenter opens in summer

Filipino specialty grocery store Seafood City is currently being constructed at shopping complex Westfield Southcenter. It will be open for business this summer. The Westfield location will be the chain’s first store in the Pacific Northwest. Seafood City has stores in California and Nevada.
