Last week, many in the Asian community came together to honor their own — if anyone can call the wildly diverse countries of China, Korea, Vietnam, Nepal, Japan, and Philippines all one’s own, which they do. In Pierce County, Nikkei candidate for Fife City Council Bryan Yambe is poised to win his contest against Doug Fagundes. As of Nov. 13, Yambe had 61 percent of the votes cast in his favor, with 39 percent going to his opponent.
