South Korean man deported for human smuggling

A South Korean man convicted in March of facilitating the illegal entry of South Korean nationals into the United States was deported May 12 by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations.

More illegal immigrants from India crossing border

By Will Weissert and Christopher Sherman The Associated Press LOS FRESNOS, Texas (AP) — Police wearing berets and bulletproof vests broke down the door of a Guatemala City apartment in February, hunting for illegal drugs. Instead, they found a different kind of illicit shipment: 27 immigrants from India packed into two locked rooms.

Chinese migrants get nabbed at Arizona border

TUCSON, Arizona (AP) — Several groups of illegal immigrants from China have been arrested in southern Arizona in recent days. On Oct. 12, U.S. Border Patrol agents said it was part of an increasing trend fed by smugglers recruiting tourists to Central and South America.
