More than 50 volunteers from the Seahawks and their partners Delta Air Lines and The Mission Continues helped landscape and clean museum cases at the Nisei Veterans Memorial Hall on June 14. The volunteer project was part of the NFL’s 100 year celebration and “Huddle for 100” campaign, which urges each person to volunteer 100 minutes of their time to a community cause.

L.J. Collier, the Seattle Seahawks’ first round draft pick last month, will be chasing quarterbacks this fall. But on a Friday afternoon in June, the former Texas Christian University defensive lineman was cleaning windows and glass cases at the Nisei Veteran’s Committee (NVC) Memorial Hall in the International District (ID).
‘Late Night’: probably not for men, white or otherwise
I went into “Late Night” with fairly low expectations. It’s rated 79 percent on Rotten Tomatoes and 71 percent on Metacritic and 6.3/10 on IMDB, which while not bad at all, the movie severely underperformed at the box office over the weekend.
Notable grads of 2019
Western Washington University (WWU) awarded a posthumous honorary bachelor’s degree on June 15 to James K. Okubo, a Medal of Honor recipient and former Western Washington College of Education student. He was unable to finish his degree because his family was incarcerated during World War II, along with about 120,000 West Coast residents of Japanese ancestry.
