The Seattle Public Library (SPL) announced on its website that its International District/Chinatown Branch will reopen tomorrow.
A notice posted on the branch’s webpage says the library will resume its normal operating schedule and welcomes patrons back beginning July 30.
In a statement, the library said it appreciates the community’s patience during the closure and is looking forward to restoring collections, programs and services at the neighborhood branch.
Library officials credited the Seattle Chinatown International District Preservation and Development Authority (SCIDpda) which owns and manages the building, for addressing the issue.
In a statement, SPL said, “The building management team at SCIDpda has been a good partner in responding to and resolving our concerns. They have thoroughly investigated, sealed, cleaned, and sanitized impacted areas of the building. They have also committed to ongoing monitoring and reporting to prevent recurrences.”
