HBO’s The White Lotus is continuing its move toward a more global ensemble in Season 4, with Asian and Asian American actors taking prominent roles following a notable increase in representation last season.
Among the new cast are Kumail Nanjiani and Chloe Bennet, whose additions signal an expansion of the show’s exploration of identity and privilege within elite spaces.

The shift builds on Season 3, set in Thailand, which featured a stronger presence of Asian performers, including Lalisa Manobal. Earlier seasons had far more limited Asian representation.
Plot details for Season 4 remain under wraps, but the series is expected to follow its familiar structure—wealthy guests and resort staff whose lives intersect over a weeklong stay.
The upcoming season will also mark a break from tradition behind the scenes.
For the first time, creator Mike White is not filming at a Four Seasons resort, departing from previous locations in Maui and Taormina.
Instead, production will take place at the Château de la Messardière overlooking Saint-Tropez, signaling a shift to a more traditional French luxury setting.
Filming is expected to begin this summer.
