Three Asian community leaders organized an appreciation dinner for supporters who lobbied the Sound Transit board to create a north-south option for Chinatown International District’s super hub station. The leaders are Christina Shimizu, Bettie Luke, and Gei Chan. Luke’s message to the supporters, “Build bridges, build bridges, build bridges” to heal the community, as the community was divided over the station’s options.
