Kelsey Schmidt, of Japanese American heritage, is Miss Washington USA. Schmidt took the post after former Miss Washington USA Stormy Keffeler resigned this month due to controversy surrounding a DUI arrest.
Schmidt earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Scripps College and is currently a pre-doctoral fellow at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and the University of Washington. She volunteers for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Schmidt will be crowned Jan. 30 at the Beauty | Brand | Believe Expo in Redmond. (end)
Please join us Saturday, February 6th at 8pm for dinner at The Dim Sum Factory in Bellevue. They will be providing a delicious buffet of wonderful Chinese dishes for $18 per person, $10 for children 5-10, no charge for children under 5.
We will be celebrating the start of Kelsey’s year as Miss Washington USA 2016. Donations will be gladly accepted that evening to support Kelsey’s preparation for Miss USA.

All past titleholders (from any system) please bring your banners, current titleholders bring your crowns and banners so you can get photos with Kelsey. She wants to highlight on social media how close knit the pageant community is and to celebrate all the talented girls and women involved.
