
Seattle Deputy Mayor Darryl Smith presented the proclamation of “Akira Takeda Day” to Mr. Takeda.
Seattle mayor Mike McGinn and the City of Seattle officially declared Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, as “Akira Takeda Day.” In his proclamation, McGinn declared the Akira Takeda “has been an unsung hero and inspiration to the greater Seattle community through his over 39 years of work at the Seattle Japanese Consulate.” He also called Takeda a humble diplomat, a great advisor to many, and a kind, loyal, and ethical source of information and advice. The proclamation was presented to Mr. Takeda by Deputy Mayor Darryl Smith. (end)
