Chloe Choi, 16, a recipient of the National Security Language Initiative (NSLI) scholarship, left for Beijing High School No. 80 to study Mandarin.
NSLI for Youth (NSLI) is a program focused on language acquisition in Arabic, Mandarin, Hindi, Korean, Persian, Russian, and Turkish speaking countries.
As a youth ambassador, Choi will promote her local community and culture and facilitate mutual understanding between the people of the United States and China.
Choi is currently a junior honors student at Nathan Hale High School. ♦
