Jacqueline Saarenas, 20, from the Filipino Community of Seattle was crowned as the 60th Miss Seafair on Saturday, July 25 by former Miss Seafair Kristen Tateishi.
Miss Seafair 2009–2010 was selected based on her academic achievement, community involvement, public speaking, and creative expression.
Saarenas is a junior at Seattle University majoring in psychology. Upon graduation, she plans to pursue a doctorate in psychology and become an educational psychologist. Saarenas volunteers with Big Brothers and Big Sisters and has been accepted into Seattle University’s Student Leaders for the Common Good Program.
The rest of the Seafair court include first princess Kiana Kobayashi from the Japanese Community of Seattle, second princess and UmojaFest queen Calista Phair, and third princess Sivona Lingle representing West Seattle Hi-Yu. ♦
