On April 4, the Wing Luke Asian Museum presented A Year of New Beginnings, a dinner and auction that featured local chefs who made appetizers inspired by art.
This portion of the evening was organized by emcee Mark Dacascos, also known as “The Chairman” on Food Network’s “Iron Chef America.” Guests and judges voted for their favorite appetizers, and the results were announced during the dinner.

Chefs presented their appetizers at The Wing Luke Asian Museum’s dinner and auction, from left to right: Christina Scholz of Ata Farm Foods, Gerold Castro of Kawali Grill, Alex Nguyen of Saigon Bistro, Rachel Yang of Joule, and Alan Dis Quan of Four Seas.
The People’s Choice Award went to Alex Nguyen of Saigon Bistro.
The Judge’s Pick Award went to Rachel Yang of Joule.
With about 400 people attending the event, the Wing Luke Asian Museum raised $250,000. Congratulations to the staff and their successful first year at the new location.
