To the Editor:
The Organization of Chinese Americans (OCA) National Center has posted what we hope will be a very important blog entry concerning the recent flood of media coverage around Miley Cyrus’ “slant-eye” photo. It is at this juncture where we have decided to fuel this attention around an educational piece.
We believe that this is an opportunity for OCA and APA youth to express their views on how America can move beyond these offensive actions. We hope this blog/petition will receive many stories that we can collect and add to our educational piece in which all OCA chapters will be able to use.
This way, we can mobilize efforts to not simply make this a single issue but one where anyone can get involved.
We strongly encourage you to visit the blog at www.ocanational.org and ask for story submissions from the APA community. Please encourage others to sign our petition, and feel free to pass this information along.
— Sarah E. Smith, communications manager of OCA National Center, Washington, D.C.

Forget what I wrote. I confused Miley with Vanessa Hudigus.

I went to Wikipedia to search about Vanessa Hudgens, and it says that she is part Asian. Accordin to an interview from May 2006(at http://www.teenhollywood.com/d.asp?r=123403&c=1038&p=10) she said she is part Chinese, Asian Indian and Filipino.
I wonder if this is true and why I never heard it mentioned when people are discussing her making those “Asian” faces. Is it less offensive if someone part Asian is making these slant eye faces?
