Letter: Arcega-Dunn misrepresented

November 26, 2008 By Northwest Asian Weekly

To the Editor:

I don’t care for how you misrepresented the position of Maria Arcega-Dunn in your recent article (Vol. 27, No. 48). Maria is not the main female anchor over at Q13. Lara Yamada is the main female anchor.

While the article is well done, Northwest Asian Weekly should not be misrepresenting her position — especially when another Asian American is actually the main anchor.

TV is my career — and everyone in this business knows that the main news anchor is the one who anchors the night primetime newscasts.

— Dawn Mitchell, sports anchor and reporter, Fox 9 in Minneapolis-St. Paul
