Beard Papas brings an Asian twist to a Western dessert. Try one of their green tea cream puffs. Walk into the store in Uwajimayas food court and find all the chefs smartly dressed, preparing rich, fluffy and yummy cream puffs with machine-like efficiency.
Flavors include the conventional vanilla and chocolate puffs. Folks with a sweet tooth rejoice.
This Japanese-style cream puffs bakery is the first one to open in Seattle. The franchise was brought over from Japan by Korean American Joana Chong. Her second Seattle-area store will open at H Mart inside the Alderwood Mall.
Perhaps an Asian Mrs. Field is coming over the horizon. ♦
