Letter: We must strive to not use ethnic slurs
I read your article, “Asian, Jewish communities unite to stop use of ethnic slur.” Great article. Thank you. As a Black man, I know all about degradation and humiliation.
Letter: ‘The courage of one’s conviction can make a difference’
I read [Mark Lee’s] Nov. 21 column on George W. Bush and Ehren Watada (“Bush and Watada: two intertwining stories”). I whole-heartedly agree with [Lee’s] column comments, and I find this amazing, as I know nothing about [him]. I am grateful for the published statement that … the courage of one’s convictions can make a difference.
Letter: Dogmatic letter misleads
First of all, his letter holds forth from the vantage point of two illusions: If whites had never colonized invaded, raped, enslaved, and abused Africa, it would be paradise — and the idea that if Blacks were given jobs, fair schools, if the [government] kept crack out of the neighborhoods, American cities would be paradises.
