Jeremy Lin, a Taiwanese American National Basketball Association (NBA) champion, is one of ESPN’s newest analysts and NBA Today contributors for the 2026-27 NBA season.
Now a retired player, Lin is one of the first Americans of Taiwanese descent to play in the NBA, and is one of a handful of Asian Americans to have played in the league. He previously worked as a guest analyst for the 2026 NBA Finals and 2026 Summer League.

During the 2011-12 season, Lin led an unexpected, winning turnaround for the New York Knicks, which kicked off a cultural phenomenon known as “Linsanity” and led to his ascent to NBA stardom.
On Oct. 19, in partnership with the NBA, Lin made an Ask Me Anything post on Reddit, where he fielded hundreds of questions from fans.
“My goal post-retirement is to give back to basketball for the next generation, whether it is commentating on TV or doing breakdowns on social media,” he wrote in response to a question. “This is all done from a desire to pass on the knowledge from prior coaches and players to basketball fans. My goal is to eventually make breakdowns on social [sic] based on what the fans want to see.”
