A significant share of King County’s felony drug-dealing cases this year have been concentrated in a handful of Seattle neighborhoods, including a key area of the Chinatown-International District (CID).
King County prosecutors filed 106 felony drug-dealing cases from January through July. Thirteen were tied to 12th Avenue and Jackson Street, one of the areas highlighted in the county’s data.
Belltown had the most, with 18 cases. Downtown Seattle had 15. The Third Avenue and Pike/Pine area had four.
Together, the four areas accounted for nearly half of the felony drug-dealing cases filed in Seattle during that period.
Seattle made up 67 of the 106 cases filed countywide—about 63%.
Drug type was a major factor in the cases. Fentanyl, methamphetamine or both were involved in 84 cases, or nearly 80% of the total.
King County Prosecuting Attorney Leesa Manion said prosecutors will continue pursuing cases involving fentanyl and methamphetamine.
The prosecution numbers come as King County continues to see a high number of fatal overdoses.
Public Health—Seattle & King County recorded 446 confirmed fatal overdoses from January through July 2026.
Last year, the county recorded 914 confirmed fatal overdoses. Fentanyl was involved in 78% of those deaths, while methamphetamine was involved in 56%.
