The 19th annual Chinatown-International District (CID)’s Night Market is back this Saturday for the third year in a row.
This annual street festival brings together over 100 local vendors, performers, and community members to celebrate Seattle’s CID.
The event from 1-9 p.m. at and around Hing Hay Park is free and open to all ages.
“This year’s Night Market will light up the neighborhood with lanterns, local vendors, cultural performances, and a strong sense of community,” says Tuyen Than, executive director of CIDBIA. “We’re excited to partner with Amazon for a third year of festivities in the CID!”
“Having grown up in the CID, I know how important events like the Night Market are to this community,” said Taylor Hoang, senior manager of Community Engagement at Amazon.
“Celebrating the culture and traditions of the CID while also supporting the small businesses that make it special.”
Attendees can enjoy a wide range of local street vendors featuring food, arts, crafts, and performances like lion dances, taiko drumming, and martial arts demonstrations.
The event was timed to coincide with the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival, specifically on the 15th day of the eighth month in the Chinese calendar, when the moon is full and brightest.
The CID Night Market was recently ranked No. 3 among the best night markets in the United States. Since its inception in 2006, it has grown to be one of the largest of its kind in the region.
