Seattle’s Chinatown Block Watch marked its eighth anniversary on Sept. 20 with an evening patrol followed by a mid-autumn dinner at Diamond Bay.

The patrol began at Hing Hay Pavilion and included a visit from Seattle Police Department officer D. Trainor.

During the patrol, volunteers helped retrieve pingpong balls at Hing Hay Park that had rolled toward the park entrance and picked up litter, including 12 empty beer cans and two empty beer boxes. Another volunteer also directed park visitors to an appropriate restroom location while the park restroom was under construction.
The evening concluded with a mid-autumn dinner featuring mooncakes, Block Watch stickers decorated with colorful lantern designs, and vintage paper lanterns for participants to take home.
