Members of Seattle’s Cambodian community gathered at Hing Hay Park on Thursday before making their way toward T-Mobile Park for the Seattle Mariners’ Cambodian Heritage Night.

The group made its way to the stadium area in a procession escorted by lowrider cars, bringing a lively community celebration to the Mariners game. Community members also gathered for photos with Miss San Francisco Chinatown.

Cambodian Heritage Night featured a pregame gathering at Victory Hall, across from T-Mobile Park, along with Mariners-themed Cambodian Heritage T-shirts and specially priced game tickets. The event also raised money for the Khmer Language Arts & Culture Academy, with $5 from each ticket sold benefiting the organization’s traditional Khmer language and dance classes for local youth.

The celebration was held during the Mariners’ Sept. 24 game against the Los Angeles Angels.
