Washington consumers: What to know about the Lundberg rice recall

New details about a Lundberg Family Farms jasmine rice recall affecting consumers in Washington and 12 other states.

The voluntary Class II recall, issued in April, involved about 4,500 cases of 2-pound pouches of Lundberg’s Regenerative Organic Certified White Jasmine Rice over concerns about possible foreign material.

The FDA listing now provides additional information about the recalled product, including its distribution across 13 states. Washington was among the states where the rice was sold, along with California, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Louisiana, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia and Wisconsin.

The recall covers 27,324 packages, totaling 54,648 pounds of rice. The recall amount was reported to the FDA when Lundberg initiated the voluntary recall in April.

Consumers can identify the recalled rice by UPC 073416040281. The affected packages include either lot 260201MA, with a best-before date of Feb. 1, 2027, or lot 260202MA, with a best-before date of Feb. 2, 2027.

Lundberg said the issue was limited to a single production run, and that no illnesses had been reported in connection with the recalled product.
