Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (NHPI) employees working for Washington state government are being invited to take part in a research study.
The study, led by a doctoral student at National University in San Diego, California, will explore topics such as career advancement, promotions, mentorship and opportunities to move into leadership roles in their workplace.
Participation involves a virtual, one-on-one interview lasting about an hour. Participants can choose whether to have the conversation audio-recorded to help with accurate transcription.
Researchers said responses will be kept confidential, and participants’ names will be replaced with pseudonyms in any reports or publications. Taking part is voluntary and will not affect a participant’s employment or relationship with any organization. Participants can also leave the study at any time without penalty.
