Sound Transit light rail service resumed Monday after a train derailed near the International District/Chinatown Station over the weekend.
The train, which was not carrying passengers, left the tracks just before midnight on Saturday as it approached the station’s southbound platform. The derailment happened around the same time thousands of people were leaving Lumen Field after an Ed Sheeran concert.
No one was hurt.
The incident disrupted service on parts of the 1 and 2 lines on Sunday while crews worked to remove the train and inspect the tracks. During the outage, shuttle buses carried riders between affected stations, and Sound Transit employees were at the International District/Chinatown Station to help passengers find the correct buses.
