Olympic medalist Sunisa Lee has announced her return to gymnastics, revealing on Instagram that she is making a comeback.

The 23-year-old has not competed since the Paris 2024 Olympics. In a video posted to social media, Lee captioned the post, “I’m back,” and said in a voiceover: “I know what I’m capable of. I’m willing to do whatever it takes to get there. Back in the gym. We’ll see.”
The clip ends with the message: “This is more than a comeback. Stay tuned.”
Lee helped the United States win team gold while also earning bronze medals in the all-around and uneven bars. At the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, she captured the all-around title, team silver, and uneven bars bronze.
Her return comes with the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics now just two years away.
Last year, Lee revealed that she had struggled with depression and self-doubt between the Tokyo and Paris Games while also managing a chronic kidney disease diagnosed in 2023.
