Ambassador Henry Bensurto Jr. was formally welcomed as the Philippines’ new consul general during the inauguration of the Philippine Consulate General in Seattle last month.
The consulate, which recently received accreditation from the U.S. Department of State, is establishing its permanent offices at One Convention Place in Seattle. Its reopening comes nearly a decade after Bensurto first proposed restoring a Philippine consular post in the city while serving as consul general in San Francisco in 2017.
The Seattle consulate provides services to Filipinos living in Washington, Alaska, Oregon, Idaho and Montana.
