The Seattle Police Department honored siblings Xander and Everly Hwang with Ingenuity Commendations during a June 10 awards ceremony at Seattle Police Headquarters.
Xander, 8, and Everly, 9, were recognized for their contributions to the Blue Hero Project, a nonprofit organization that supports law enforcement officers and their families across the Pacific Northwest.
The duo are the children of Blue Hero Project founder Diane Hwang and have become familiar faces in the organization’s outreach efforts. The pair regularly help prepare care packages and appreciation gifts for officers, contributing their time and energy to projects that support first responders.
Earlier this year, the siblings assembled individual Lifesaver packs for officers during North Precinct Officer Appreciation Day. In recognizing the Hwangs, Seattle police highlighted their generosity, enthusiasm and dedication to serving others.
The awards were part of a ceremony recognizing community members and police personnel for service and contributions to public safety.
