Hundreds gathered at Hing Hay Park on Saturday, May 30 for the annual CID Spring Clean, sponsored by the Chinatown-International District Business Improvement Area (CIDBIA).
Participants included elders from Interim CDA, young professionals and residents of all ages. Some live in the Chinatown-International District, while others traveled from neighboring communities. They shared a common goal—connecting with others while helping beautify the historic neighborhoods they care about.

More than 220 volunteers cleaned windows in Japantown, painted storefronts in Little Saigon and picked up litter along South King Street and surrounding areas.
In addition to the annual event, the CIDBIA hosts smaller litter-focused cleanups on the second Saturday of each month. Volunteers meet at Hing Hay Park from 10 a.m. to noon.
