The Seattle Lodge of the Chinese American Citizens Alliance (C.A.C.A.) drew a record 240 attendees to its annual banquet on Sunday, May 31, raising more than $1,500 for student scholarships.

The event included a Presentation of Colors by American Legion Cathay Post No. 186 and recognition of winners of the 2026 C.A.C.A. National Essay Contest.

Michelle Huang of Newport High School received first place and a $500 award. Janet Leong of Inglemoor High School earned second place and $300. Beikun Hu of North Creek High School and Cady Wu of Interlake High School were named runners-up and received $100 each. Isabelle Charernruengkit of Skyline High School was also recognized for placing third nationally and receiving a $700 award.

The organization presented its Fred Yee Citizens Award to Michael Chen, Amy Chen Lozano, Tanya Woo and the Buddhist Tzu-Chi Foundation. Presenters included Assunta Ng, Mary Knell and Alan Lai.
The lodge also announced it will host the national C.A.C.A. convention in Seattle in September 2027.
