Bookda Gheisar will be crowned Queen Alcyone as part of Seafair’s 2026 Royalty Court during the organization’s annual Summer Kickoff event on June 1 at Pier 62 on the Seattle waterfront.
Gheisar, an Iranian American, serves as senior director of the Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion at the Port of Seattle and previously served on the board of API Chaya, a Seattle-based nonprofit focused on supporting survivors of violence and human trafficking.
The official crowning ceremony will take place during Seafair’s public kickoff celebration, which marks the launch of the organization’s 2026 summer festival season. Organizers said the royalty court honors individuals who embody Seafair’s tradition of civic leadership and community service.
Former NFL wide receiver Sidney Rice will be crowned King Neptune, while community advocate Abubakr Abdulkadir will be recognized as Community Hero.
The event will also include announcements related to the 2026 Seafair season, including the lineup for the Boeing Seafair Air Show, along with live entertainment, family activities and community programming.
