In the Chinatown–International District (CID), flakes drifted through Hing Hay Park and along South King Street in front of Tai Tung Restaurant shortly after 9 a.m.. Snow dusted rooftops and collected lightly on park benches and shrubs but melted quickly on most streets and sidewalks.
More significant snowfall was expected in the Cascade Mountains, where heavy snow continued to affect mountain passes and make travel hazardous through Friday.
