The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) is launching a new digital ad campaign timed to Lunar New Year, accusing House Republicans of driving up costs and failing Asian American and Pacific Islander communities.
The four-figure national ad buy will target AAPI voters in 18 competitive House districts, including seats in California, New York, New Jersey, Nevada, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Alaska. The ads are set to begin running this week on Facebook and Instagram.
The campaign argues that the Republican agenda has made life more expensive by backing tariffs and cutting programs Democrats say help working families. It also criticizes GOP lawmakers over health care and immigration enforcement, saying they have done little as immigration raids have affected AAPI communities.
Recent polling cited by the committee shows economic concerns are top of mind for AAPI voters, particularly in communities impacted by former President Donald Trump’s tariffs.
“Thanks to House Republicans, this year’s Lunar New Year celebrations are marked by financial stress for hard-working AAPI families,” said Sarah Lin, the DCCC’s national AANHPI engagement director. “AAPI communities across the country deserve much better than reckless tariffs, skyrocketing prices, and GOP-backed policies that make it harder for families to thrive.”
