Sandesh Sadalge
Sandesh Sadalge was officially sworn in on Tuesday as the District 4 Tacoma City Councilmember. He is the first South Asian to serve on the City Council.
He was appointed to the position in July 2024, and elected to the position by the voters in 2025.
“I found true meaning and fulfillment in doing this job over the past year and a half, so I am deeply grateful to the residents of District 4 for placing their trust in me for the next four years,” said Sadalge. “My work will continue to be guided by the voices and stories of those I represent.”
Sadalge said he is focused on making sure the city operates within its legal authority while standing up for democracy and protecting due process for every resident. He’s committed to compassionate care for people experiencing homelessness, and keeping youth and children safe through using data-driven approaches that address the root causes of violence. He also wants to champion policies that expand homeownership opportunities.
