Mike Fong
Mike Fong has been appointed as the city of Everett’s new senior executive director for economic development and opportunity.
Fong told the Northwest Asian Weekly “the offer was made over the holidays” by Everett Mayor Cassie Franklin and prompted his departure from Snohomish County government. He described the role as an opportunity he could not pass on.
“It was a hard decision, but a good opportunity and challenge.”
Franklin said, “Mike is a thoughtful, community-oriented leader with unmatched experience and a proven track record of advancing opportunity and economic growth. His leadership will take Everett’s economic development work to the next level: building upon our recent successes and making the most of the opportunities before us while still staying true to who we are as a community.”
Fong is scheduled to begin the new position on Feb. 9.
