Prosecutors have charged a 30-year-old man in a deadly shooting at a Chinatown-International District (CID) hookah lounge that killed a 34-year-old man last month.
The King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office said Abdulrahman M. Hussein was charged Dec. 31 with second-degree murder and a deadly weapon enhancement. He is being held on $3 million bail.

The shooting happened just before 8 a.m. Dec. 1 at a hookah lounge in the 400 block of Rainier Avenue South. Officers who responded found a man in his 30s who had been shot. He later died at Harborview Medical Center.
Detectives say the shooting followed an argument inside the lounge. Several people were inside at the time, but no one else was hurt. The shooter ran off before police arrived.
Hussein was not arrested in connection with the case until weeks later. On Dec. 24, Renton police arrested him after a traffic crash and booked him into jail on suspicion of driving under the influence and violating an ignition interlock requirement. While he was in custody, Seattle homicide detectives completed their investigation and sent the case to prosecutors.
The King County Medical Examiner is responsible for formally identifying the victim and determining the cause and manner of death.
