A man is in custody after allegedly shooting a woman in his apartment near the Chinatown–International District (CID).
At about 6 a.m. on Dec. 28, police responded to a report of a woman shot in the 500 block of Rainier Avenue South. When they arrived, they found a 26-year-old woman suffering from an apparent small-caliber gunshot wound to her upper right thigh. She was taken to Harborview Medical Center in serious but stable condition.
The woman said the suspect shot her while she was taking a shower and taking longer than expected.
Police arrested the 47-year-old man. They obtained a search warrant and recovered a BB gun rifle, a pellet gun rifle, and a small-caliber handgun.
