KUOW interviewed Tai Tung owner Harry Chan earlier this month, just as the COVID cases were starting to ramp up and businesses in Chinatown were seeing a decline.
Initially hurt by fear about the viral outbreak, and xenophobia of the Asian community, businesses are now starting to close and lay off workers after Gov. Jay Inslee ordered restaurants, bars, and entertainment and recreational facilities to shut down statewide.
