A 20-year-old active-duty U.S. Marine from Kent, Wash. was shot and killed outside a Georgia apartment complex during a botched armed robbery attempt on April 28, according to police.
Pvt. Anahitdeep S. Sandhu was shot several times in Perry, Ga., according to the Perry Police Department. He was pronounced dead in a hospital emergency room.
Sandhu, an aviation ordnance Marine from Kent, Wash., was assigned to Marine All Weather Fighter Attack Squadron 224, Marine Aircraft Group 31, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, according to Marine 1st Lt. Sam Stephenson.
Sandhu was in Georgia with another Marine and staying with a friend.
25-year-old Quavion Shaquil Rountree was arrested on April 30, according to police. He has been charged with murder.
