Katty Chow is one of the ten finalists in the 2016 AARP Asian American and Pacific Islander Community Hero Award Contest. Katty is the only finalist from Washington State, and was chosen from 77 applicants.
Throughout the month of May, Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, the public can vote for their favorite finalist at bit.ly/aarpaapihero-vote. Finalists with the top three scores will be named Heroes and will receive $1,000 individually and $1,000 for the organization that nominated them.
Since Katty joined the Kin On Board of Directors in 1997, she has worked tirelessly to bring necessary culturally-relevant services to AAPI seniors through outreach efforts, community education, and fundraising. Katty has also served on boards of various AAPI organizations, including the Hong Kong Association of Washington, Chinese Information and Service Center, and the Seattle Chinese Women’s Club.
