The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) named Chaitra Vedullapalli, cofounder of Seattle-based Meylah, as the 2016 Small Business Advocate of the Year winner. Dr. Yogesh “Yogi” Agrawal of Sequoia Scientific, Inc., in Bellevue, won the 2016 Small Business Exporter of the Year.
They were honored, among others, at a celebration on May 4 at the Museum of Flight.
Vedullapalli is a graduate of India’s Bangalore University and has been recognized as a top 100 small business influencer. “Digital transformation of small businesses is my passion,” Vedullapalli said. “Helping businesses with digital transformation allows them to compete in the digital economy and fosters job creation in the 21st century.”
Agrawal’s company develops scientific instruments used to measure particles in water using laser diffraction and holographic technologies.
He is an immigrant from India. He started his own business, like all other entrepreneurs, chasing the American Dream.
