George Leing is Colorado’s new representative to the Republican National Committee. Leing lost his bid to unseat U.S. Rep. Jared Polis in 2014.
Leing will fill the remainder of Mike Kopp’s term, which expires after this year’s convention.
Leing, a lawyer who works in finance and energy, is the former chairman of the Boulder County Republicans and has served on the state GOP executive committee.
He is the youngest of four children of Chinese immigrants who came to the United States in 1947. He was born and raised in New York City and graduated from New York University. He has a law degree from Georgetown University and a master’s degree in religion from Yale University. (end)
