The Women’s University Club of Seattle held its annual Brava! awards celebration April 23. The event honors outstanding women in the greater Seattle area who have made a positive, enduring difference in the community.
Nominations for the awards are received from club members, from professional organizations, and from community leaders. The ceremony also honors scholarship recipients. Scholarships are awarded to young women, who through their leadership and character, have made a significant contribution to their schools and communities.
This year’s scholarship honorees include Katherine Qian of Redmond High School, Amrita Ram of Newport High School, and Melia Michiko Wong of Ingraham High School.
The Honorable Mary Yu, Washington State Supreme Court Justice, was awarded as a Brava! honoree. (end)
