Miller Hayashi Architects was merited a Masonry Institute of Washington 2014 design award for their work for International Community Health Services (ICHS). Shoreline Medical and Dental Clinic is the newest clinic in the ICHS network of nonprofit community health centers. Major structural elements and glazing were designed with future expansion needs in mind. ICHS wanted durable, sustainable materials as the clinic was designed for decades of frequent use. It chose a manganese Ironspot masonry facade and exposed concrete shear walls. (end)
