On Dec. 14, members of the Seattle Chapter of the Chinese American Citizens Alliance (C.A.C.A.) and their families purchased, packaged, and distributed over 500 pounds of rice to needy seniors at the Chinese Information and Service Center in the Chinatown-International District. This annual event is just one of the many activities hosted by the Seattle Chapter.
Established two years ago, the Seattle Chapter is the newest chapter of C.A.C.A. It is one of the nation’s oldest civil rights organizations, which was founded more than 100 years ago in San Francisco. The mission of the organization is to promote and protect civil rights, develop leadership in Chinese youth, and provide community service. (end)
